Mystery pokemon wiki

This is a website I am developing, for the new pokemon game coming out in just over 3 weeks. I will not be providing the url just yet, as the site has not been opened! This website uses MediaWiki, a php engine. The screenshot is of it in development, and some of the more complex functions still need to be completed. It has two mySQL databases.

I tried several engines before settling with this one. I chose it as it was the most compact engine and used languages I was familliar with.

Personal development challenge

- Housemates
Housemates is a work in progress, tongue in cheek website aimed at university students. Sometimes the people you live with are hate-inducing. The site will be a place to share funny or disgusting stories. The upload php script is completed, so feel free to try it out.

The design work is mainly in it's first stage, because while I have a design for it I am using this project solely to learn php, and it has indeed been a learning experience!

Howell Design Blog

This website was developed for personal use, so I designed it with myself in mind. It utilizes wordpress, which I customized myself. The aim of it, was to create a daily design blog. It's coded in Strict XHTML, alongside CSS, PHP and MySQL.

West Stats

This site aims to be the most comprehensive and indepth guide, statistic and tool resource for Innogames' popular new game, The West .

As co-founder of the site, I was mainly involved through the design side of things however I coded a few features, such as the signature generator. I also managed the ticket system, which included organising translators for the other languages and changing mistakes in the information.

The aim I had while designing this website was to create a new fresh feel - different to the actual game while keeping it western, aged and easy to use.

The other co-founder is Jon Dawson, and is the sole owner at the moment.

Howell Design portfolio

This is my portfolio site design. The whole layout has been my own work, including the flower illustrations, and the portfolio display script. There have been about 3 versions of this design, one of which was lost. This is version 2! It's coded in Strict XHTML, alongside CSS, PHP and MySQL.

Here is a screenshot of version 3! I added a bar before my intro text, displaying the most recent portfolio item. On mouseover, the faded images in which you can see would become colourful (See a working preview on a slightly different, work in progress. My portfolio items were already in an SQL database, so I just had to create a modified php script for it. I plan to reinstate this version when I get the time!
